Find What Speaks to You and Let It Scream

Find What Speaks to You and Let It Scream

So, I was thinking the other day about how just down right monotonous life can become. You get up, eat breakfast, get ready, go to work, work your day away, go home, make dinner, watch a show or two, shower and go to bed… just to get up the next morning to do it all over again. And you go through each day just making tick marks to count down to your next weekend where you might finally have some time to yourself. How on earth has this become the life that we live? Is it the life you want?

Blogging Tips and Tricks From One Newbie to Another

Since the release of Trish Did What?! I’ve been approached by a couple of people asking about the blog. Why did I start it? How can they go about starting one? Is it worth it? What tips do I have for new bloggers (like myself)? This post is specifically for them! I decided to compile some of the tricks that I’ve learned in my first few months as a blogger and put them out there for y’all to learn from. Enjoy! 1. Editorial calendars are your best friend. Seriously. When I first started I had no effing clue what an

Gimme A Break: I Took a Lunch Break Every Day, No Matter What. This is What I Found.

Gimme A Break: I Took a Lunch Break Every Day, No Matter What. This is What I Found.

I am notorious for skipping my lunch breaks when I’m in the office. I just can’t help it! I get in my groove and before I’m even aware of the time passing it’s 2 hours until I’m supposed to leave and it would be just silly to take a lunch at that point! Or I would just be too busy. I had so much work to do that I absolutely couldn’t justify walking away from my desk to take 45 minutes or an hour to myself. So, I would work through my lunch. And let me tell ya, those days

2016… Time to Bow Out

2016… Time to Bow Out

Well y’all, the time has finally come. 2016 is coming to a close. And can I be the first to say: Thank. God. This year has been easily one of the most roller coaster years of my life. Its peaks were amazing, but its valleys were terrible. I’ve never been through so much in such a short span of time. I came across a quote the other day that I really think sums it up perfectly: It has been one of the greatest and most difficult years of my life. I learned everything is temporary; moments, feelings, people, flowers. I

Real Talk: Online Bullying… Just Stop.

Real Talk: Online Bullying… Just Stop.

Alright y’all. It’s time to discuss a pretty serious topic that hits pretty close to home for me and a lot of other people that I know: Online bullying. The other day I was scrolling through insta on a celebrities page and some of the comments that I saw made me literally sick to my stomach. So, I got curious and started browsing other pages. A while later I was feeling a lot worse and could not believe the things that I had read. Below are direct quotes from some of the comments that I found: “You’re such a bitch“ “FRAUD“ “You’re

Coming Soon to a Blog Near You

Truth time! I am the single most unorganized being in the entire universe. I like planners, and highlighters and all that stuff mainly because it gives me the illusion of having my shit together even though I 100% do not. One thing I’d love to do next year is to actually have a plan. So, I’m very proud to admit that I’ve planned out a lot of my posts through the first two months of 2017! Here are some of the things that you have to look forward to: Cutting Out the Extras: Ever wondered “if I didn’t get that Tim

The End of an Era: Why Leaving College Was the Best Decision Ever

The End of an Era: Why Leaving College Was the Best Decision Ever

We all hear it, “If you don’t go to college you won’t get a job. A degree is worth EVERYTHING.” (I just threw up in my mouth a little even having to type that). I know almost every single person in my generation felt the pressure to go straight to college after high school. I felt it. I did it. And it was terrible. Here’s the thing, at 18 you have absolutely no idea who you are. They don’t even trust you enough to be able to rent a hotel room without fucking it up… but yet they expect you

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

“I like misty autumn mornings, and cold snowy winter nights. Rainstorms bring me inner peace, thunder sets my soul alight. I care not for summer… days too long, the heavy heat. Give me candlelight evenings, early darkness, a silent street. ~N.C.~ Happy winter solstice y’all! My favorite season is officially upon us and I could not be happier! I know most people think that makes me cray, but I can’t help it. When the snow covers the world in its magic I can’t help but swell up with joy. This is also coming from someone who is 100% not a

Living a Plant Based Life: Let’s Discuss

Living a Plant Based Life: Let’s Discuss

So, today we’re going to have a little discussion about leading a plant based life (a.k.a. going vegan). Vegetarianism and veganism are things that I’ve toyed around with for a while and was lacto-ovo vegetarian for some time as well. Now, for those who aren’t familiar with alternative diet lifestyles here’s a crash course: Lacto-Ovo Vegetarian: Eats dairy and eggs, just no meat. Ovo Vegetarian: Eats eggs, but no dairy or meat. Lacto Vegetarian: Consumes dairy, but no eggs or meat. Pescatarian: Eats diary, eggs, and fish, but no other meat. Vegan: No meat, no diary, no eggs, no honey. Absolutely no animal by-product whatsoever.
